About Dr. French
Dr. Carol A. French, DMD is a former Charleston elementary school teacher. She graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina Dental College in Charleston in 1982 and was accepted into a pediatric residency program at Children's Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio and Indiana University.
Dr. French’s specialty training included growth and development, child psychology, behavior management, conscious sedation, treatment of cleft palate children, orthodontics, hospital dentistry, dental trauma, special needs children, and specialized areas unique to infants, young children and adolescents. She received her board certification in 1992 and is a Board Certified Diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, SC Dental Association (SCDA), Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, Greater Columbia Dental Society, and the American Society of Dentistry for Children. She has served the SCDA as state chairman of the SC National Children's Dental Health Month Committee since 1997 and as a local chairman since 1990.
